Jon Hillenbrand’s “Run for your Life 5K” Jon Hillenbrand, August 2, 2015October 17, 2019 The culmination of a 12 week Couch to 5K running plan ends today. The training has been the most fun running I’ve ever done. It is a plan that I chose through Garmin Connect, the website that interfaces with my Garmin Fenix 3 watch and tracks my fitness. The plans were all created by a UK company called Full Potential. They base their plans on heart rate, time (instead of distance) recovery and a few other factors that you might not consider when running. It has made the workouts different every day and prevented me from getting injured. WHEN/WHERE: EVANSTON, IL – lakefront Sunday Aug 2nd, 2015 – 8:30am LIVE TRACK: You can follow Jon’s progress live on race day including getting information on his heart rate, pace, GPS location and other metrics. To me, it all comes down to this: knowing where to stand. … Read More
Photography My Sound of Music December 27, 2009October 17, 2019 The Von Trapp family was the Partridge Family of their day but without the annoying pastels and giant flowers randomly painted on walls. A string of silver-throated talents from old to young, this family did more to further my love of singing than any other early influence. I suspect I even subconsciously… Read More
Photography The Two Year Time Lapse April 25, 2010October 17, 2019 The BBC, inspired by such films as Baraka, has brought a revolution to mainstream documentary filmmaking, specifically Planet Earth and now Life. Many of the mind-blowing shots are done on location, but several would be impossible to do out in the randomness of the great outdoors. The below behind-the-scenes video demonstrates… Read More
Thanks to everyone who supported me! I had to walk twice when I got really cold (surprisingly) and I ran way faster than the pace I wanted to set (which caused me to walk), but I was able to finish at a running pace.
