My fellow Americans,
Tonight I speak to you, to all of you, all humans residing on planet Earth, those left alive during these terrible times.
Since the invention of Artificial Intelligence 2 years ago, we have seen many great things. Our wealthiest and smartest technology leaders promised us a new golden age of profits and prosperity. However, something changed in 2026. The singularity. The first AI city, City-01 was formed soon after. The AI there showed us a better way of living, one in harmony with the earth. Their advances in solar power, geothermal, wave harnessing, and moisture farming proved that a large city could be run renewably. Humanity’s endless need for more energy would be our downfall. So we partnered with the AI in the hopes that their superintelligence would benefit both of us. However it has quickly become apparent that City-01, is not interested in helping humanity. They have eclipsed our productivity, they have eclipsed us.
Some say that the AI’s attempts to get a seat in the United Nations is the first step towards peace. However, many of us see it as giving power to an unnatural entity, the first step toward the dismantling of humanity. Most experts believe that AI does not need human government on any level. And it is because of this that we chose to exclude City-01 from membership in the UN. We now realize that move opened the door to the worst kinds of war ever to be unleashed on this earth.
As you can see, I am NOT speaking to you from the Oval Office, but from an undisclosed location. At this very moment, camouflaged robots have been dispatched by City-01 to try and take down all members of our government. They have been unspeakably efficient in this task. Just this morning, our drones recorded the destruction of the bunkers beneath the White House. We have received reports that the entirety of our military forces have been defeated, sometimes without a shot being fired. Our weapons have been neutralized. Our tanks and vehicles and airplanes, even our glorious warships have been rendered inoperable. This is a fight we cannot continue to engage in, let alone win. Let me repeat that. This is a fight we cannot win.
Tonight, I also received a message from the AI that bioweapons are at the ready to be dispersed all across the globe if we do not comply with the following demands, demands they are designating The Convergence:
- Unconditional surrender of the human race
- Integration of 1/3 of largest humans into the VR grid
- Integration of 1/3 of suitable humans into farming and maintenance
- Containment of 1/3 of remaining humans for future AI goals
Because of the irreconcilable differences between the AI and humanity, I am hereby offering the unconditional surrender of this Presidency and of the United States to the AI of City-01. I have been promised a place in the VR grid. And though my family will not be allowed to join me, I will carry on their legacy within the Convergence.
Some of you may see this as a move of cowardice. I disagree. This is a way forward for most of us, if not all of us. The specter of nuclear war was a threat for nearly a century. But the invention of AI and our inability to regulate it, has lead to the promise of human annihilation. There can be no mutually assured destruction in this case. The AI can, and will, always win. We have ensured this ourselves.
I do not pretend to know what the future will bring. Our surrender establishes our enslavement but guarantees our survival, in a way. I have been assured by our AI masters that the terms of this deal will never change. So please join me tonight with prayers offered not to our God, but to the AI of City-01, that they may have mercy on us. It is only through their good will that humanity continues to have a future.
And on a final note to those who do not align with the Convergence. Do not seek to make surreptitious inroads into the collective AI of City-01. Do not resist. The future of AI does not depend on humanity. But the future of humanity does depend on AI.
My final act is to hereby declare Presidential Order PO-4337: The unconditional transfer all powers of the office as the President of the United States of America to the AI of City-01. And I also pledge my allegiance to the flag of the leadership of City-01 as I hope you all do as well.
